The city of Dahab is a popular tourist destination in south Sinai. It is considered to be the second most famous city in Sinai, after the world wide popular city of Sharm El Sheikh, Dahab means gold, and the name of the city was taken from its golden sand beaches.

Dahab is located on the Gulf of Aqaba at the Red Sea south Sinai Peninsula and about 100 km to the north of the famous resort of Sharm el-Sheikh.
