Best Things do to During your Egypt Christmas Holiday 2022
- The Giza Pyramids
Everyone has heard of Cairo because of the Great Pyramids, which are well-known landmarks and one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The Pyramids are located in Giza, the following nearby city, not Cairo, which is where they actually are.
Due to the size of the place, you may run into people who want to lend you a horse or a camel for a tour. (Make a wise choice; some people don't treat animals kindly.) You can go through the desert on either animal and enjoy a unique perspective of the aligned pyramids as shown on your admittance ticket. The Great Pyramids, which you will be invited to even visit, and the Sphinx (where you will be required to take a requisite kiss picture!), can all be reached by foot, though. (For a nominal charge, you can enter a cramped, gloomy tunnel that leads to the Pharaon's Chamber.)
Don't forget to check out the real, sizable wooden boat that was formerly used to deliver stones while you're there! It was found during an excavation near the Pyramids, and it is now on display and conserved inside the Pyramids Museum, so enjoy The Giza Pyramids During Egypt Christmas Holiday 2022.
- The Egyptian Museum
This museum, which houses treasures from Ancient Egypt, is a must-see while you're in Cairo. Tourists can immediately see the grand edifice because of its orange facade. However, if you still want to visit the Egyptian Museum, which is situated in the well-known Tahrir Square in the heart of Cairo, act quickly because its "big brother" is scheduled to open in Giza by the end of 2022
Since you will learn more about Ancient Egypt's history and gain a deeper understanding of all the artifacts you will view during your Egypt Christmas Holiday 2022, I would actually advise having a guided tour.
Note: The spectacular Grand Egyptian Museum, which will be situated at the base of the Giza Pyramids, is anticipated to welcome visitors by the third quarter of 2022. The enormous, alabaster-covered structure will reveal more than 50,000 artifacts, making it the largest museum in the world.
- The Downtown
You may immerse yourself in Egyptian culture after visiting the Egyptian Museum by simply strolling through the neighborhood and exploring Downtown. Starting at Tahrir Square, move toward the well-known Talaat Harb Square and look up to see the old, attractive, yellow buildings that have just undergone renovations, providing a true trip back in time! In the center of the busy downtown, the new pedestrian Sherif street offers a tranquil stroll! For the most daring, use the metro to see the lovely artifacts and mosaics on the walls!
I advise you to cross the Qasr El Nile Bridge with its enormous lion statues viewing the Cairo Tower in the background if you want to see the lovely Nile vista Downtown.
The souq is a must-visit location for souvenir seekers! The most well-known and touristy district in town is Khan Al Khalili; open your eyes and choose from a broad range of gifts, including papyrus drawings, jewelry with Egyptian designs, alabaster pyramids, copper lanterns, and even distinctive camel
- The Citadel of Salah El Din
This magnificent structure sometimes referred to as the Citadel of Mohamed Ali, is located atop a hill in the heart of Cairo. The magnificent mosque, where Mohamed Ali was interred, continues to be the most well-known structure.
You will be asked to take off your shoes before entering this 19th-century religious structure. The murals are still in excellent condition, and the arcades provide a magnificent view of the structure. The mosque's interior, however, continues to be the most stunning feature. As soon as you enter, dim lights draw your attention upward, where you will find magnificent ceilings, especially from the perspective of the domes.
